Today I have made Brunsviger which is a yeast dough added a remonce made of brown sugar and margarine or butter.
Brunsviger; the word is probably derived from the German city of Braunschweig but I do not know the proper English term for it (if one exists)
5 dl. Water
100 grams Yeast
100 grams of sugar
800 grams of flour
100 grams of margarine
150 grams Margarine
500 grams of brown sugar
2 tbsp. Syrup, dark
0.5 tbsp. Whole milk
1 tsp. Cinnamon, ground
Stir the yeast in water, add sugar, flour and melted cooled margarine. Knead lightly until well combined
2. distributed uniformly in a large pan. Press deep holes in the dough (sugar mass) The dough is quite soft!
3. Sugar Mass: The margarine is melted in a pot and mix with sugar, syrup, milk and cinnamon. The hot sugar mass is distributed evenly over the dough.
Place in a cold oven – turn of 200 degrees C. and bake for 20 -30minutes.
Raises much, remember a BIG baking pan 33×38 cm. or so.
And you’re done! Eays and fast
hope you guys enjoy, see you later 🙂
