Brunsviger

Today I have made Brunsviger which is a yeast dough added a remonce made ​​of brown sugar and margarine or butter.
Brunsviger; the word is probably derived from the German city of Braunschweig but I do not know the proper English term for it (if one exists)

Dough:
5 dl. Water
100 grams Yeast
100 grams of sugar
800 grams of flour
100 grams of margarine

Sugar Mass:
150 grams Margarine
500 grams of brown sugar
2 tbsp. Syrup, dark
0.5 tbsp. Whole milk
1 tsp. Cinnamon, ground

 

  1. Dough:
      Stir the yeast in water, add sugar, flour and melted cooled margarine. Knead lightly until well combined

      2. distributed uniformly in a large pan. Press deep holes in the dough (sugar mass) The dough is quite soft!

        3. Sugar MassThe margarine is melted in a pot and mix with sugar, syrup, milk and cinnamon. The hot sugar mass is distributed evenly over the dough.

Place in a cold oven turn of 200 degrees C. and bake for 20 -30minutes.

  Raises much, remember a BIG baking pan 33×38 cm. or so.
